And so, here we are.
Unless you’re Steven Alan and decided to jump the gun by showing your luxury basics a day early, for most of us New York Fashion Week starts TOMORROW. I decided to head over to Lincoln Center this afternoon to see if there was any snooping to be had–getting the lay of the land, as they say in journalism school–and, well, hmph, there wasn’t.
Aside from a few curious onlookers and a security guy in a neon vest standing guard outside the shiny Mercedes-Benz tent, the scene was about as desolate as they come. Of course, that will all change tomorrow when hordes of fashionistas in their Prada hot-rod stilettos clatter down Broadway, fighting each other for good seats and Fiber One bars.
Nicolas K starts it all off at 9 a.m., and then it’s nothing but fun and fury for the next eight days. I have to work through most of it–I’m helping The Cut put together runway photo galleries–but here’s hoping I can squeeze in a show or two.
What part of Fashion Week are you most excited about?
