NYFW Day Two: Double takes

Today was a day for double takes and loud exclamations of “didn’t I just see that?!?” Designers dipped in the same inspiration pool to come up with these similar silhouettes, colors, patterns, materials, etc. In fashion, we call this phenomenon “trend setting.”

Not even 24 hours after I gushed over that beige floral gown by Tadashi Shoji (left), I was gushing over the exact same dress by Jenni Kayne. Except this time I gushed while frantically Googling where I can find a fur hunting cap.

BCBG Max Azria (left) and Jason Wu both thought it would be fun if models actually had furry gorilla arms.

Just when you thought the florals Richard Chai LOVE sent down the runway yesterday couldn’t get any less cheerful, Honor (right) presents this moody little number.

BCBG Max Azria (left) and Peter Som insist that unnaturally bright fur is the way to go this fall. And for some reason, we’re not arguing.

What trends caught your eye today?
